The Last Call

Wednesday was our Broadcasting Year 3 Semester 3’s third and final screening in UTAR. Went to uni with a heavy heart as most of us were really disappointed with our Multi Camera Production (MCP). The only thing we were looking forward at was our Documentary. Turns out, practically the entire Auditorium was laughing from the beginning till the end of our MCP.

There were still a lot of drawbacks such as the graphics timing and quality (only according to our Graphic person), audio not very good (according to our audio person who is myself), subtitles extremely ugly and lighting was not very good.

However, after viewing all 5 groups’ MCP, we can actually say that, ours was not that bad. Our graphics were the most professional, our audio was considerably the best controlled, our content was awesome and our set design fits the theme best.

After lunch, it was time for Documentary screening. Due to the lack of time, lecturers didn’t comment much on each Documentary but the one thing that stuck to my head till today was what Ms Foo commented – “For a student’s work, it’s almost perfect”.

Yes! She said almost perfect!! Mind you. I felt damn happy upon hearing that. Well, that’s mostly due to the emo-ness and feeling down the week before that. So, when she said that, it’s like a really huge encouragement to me. I don’t know about the rest though but to me it is. And I felt damn proud of our team!! We really put in a lot of effort to this production. Some even sacrificed their CNY holidays to start working on their scope.

It makes it all worth it. The sweats, the shits, the sleepless nights and everything under the sun and moon. A job well done!!

A pat on the back for everyone!! lol

===============

Today 23rd April 2010 marks the last day of me being a student. It’s more of the last day of class actually since we still have our finals this coming week. It didn’t felt like the last day of class. Lecture was practically full. Many of our friends didn’t attend the class. It felt like just any other day. The days where you go for class but you end up talking and laughing and disturbing the people seated next to you. The days where you are either day dreaming or stoning or falling asleep 50% of the time in lectures. That’s what it felt like.

4 years seems so short. It felt like only yesterday I started my Degree course in UTAR. So much we had complained throughout the years. Whether it was about the management, equipment, parking problem, air condition or classmates, yet we lived through them.

Today is only the closure to our university/student life. It is not the final chapter. It is merely a stepping stone to the transition of us into the adulthood. Scary and I don’t know what exactly to expect actually.

Whatever will be, will be.

Best of luck to all Final Year students!!!
